Meet Dr. Kathy

Concise: Kathy Koch, Ph.D. (pronounced “cook”) is the Founder and President of Celebrate Kids, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas. She speaks to parents, children of all ages, educators, women, and missionaries nationally and internationally in schools, churches, and conventions. Her first book, Finding Authentic Hope and Wholeness: 5 Questions That Will Change Your Life, was published by Moody in 2005. They’ll publish her second book, How Am I Smart? A Parent’s Guide to Multiple Intelligences in early 2007. Dr. Kathy has been a professor, teacher, coach, and school board member. Celebrate Kids, Inc., which is 15-years-old, has been awarded one federal grant, provides program services for a second, has 14 people on staff, contracts with many more, and speaks to over 100,000 people each year.

Expanded: Before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, to establish Celebrate Kids, Inc. in 1991, Dr. Kathy Koch (pronounced “cook”) was a tenured Associate Professor in the education department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Her other relevant experiences include teaching second graders, coaching middle schoolers, volunteering as a school board member for a Christian school, and teaching Sunday School at all levels. She earned three degrees from Purdue University, including a Ph.D. in reading and educational psychology.


Finding Authentic Hope and Wholeness: 5 Questions that Will Change Your Life is Dr. Kathy’s first book. It was published in early 2005 by Moody Publishing. They’ll publish her second book, How Am I Smart? A Parent’s Guide to Multiple Intelligences in early 2007. She is also a regular contributor to two international magazines. She writes columns and articles for Teachers of Vision, the magazine for members of the Christian Educators Association International. Interact, a magazine for North Americans educating their children overseas, also publishes her regular column.

Although Dr. Kathy is now an author, her public speaking continues to be her main focus. Through her speaking, she influences many people at events sponsored by schools, churches, and conventions. She speaks to parents, public school educators, Christian school educators, church teachers and leaders, women, missionaries, and students in college, high school, middle school, and elementary school both in the States and internationally.

Dr. Kathy is appreciated for her practical, realistic, helpful, and insightful ideas about many topics. She is also known for her down-to-earth, upbeat, humorous, and forthright style. People report being both encouraged and challenged. Whether a group is small or large, those in attendance will sense Kathy’s love and respect for them.


Kathy usually travels overseas twice each year. She speaks on a variety of topics at conferences to help missionaries meet the educational needs of their children, to students of international Christian boarding schools, and to teachers of international English-speaking schools. She has spoken in the Philippines, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Holland, Sweden, Scotland, England, Germany, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Thailand, Senegal, and Korea.


More important than Dr. Kathy’s love for children of all ages is her love for Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord. Kathy’s faith and desire to serve and glorify God drives Celebrate Kids, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry privileged and positioned to impact people in school, church, and convention settings.
