Every Monday, I’ll post about discovering genuine hope and authentic answers for living a healthy life.

Hope. It’s essential. Genuine hope is best.

People are looking for it. Searching. Wondering.

Some people find counterfeit hope.

Things that don’t last: Power that fades. Positions that lose prominence. Possessions that no longer satisfy.

People who don’t last: People who lie. Who disappoint. Who don’t follow through. Who can’t be relied upon even though they said they could.

Some people find despair. They’re disappointed so often by counterfeit hope they relied on for awhile that they give up. They stop looking. Believing. Wondering. Hoping. Despair becomes their companion.

Without hope, people won’t find purpose. Or, they may not believe in the purpose they thought they had. Purpose provides a reason to live. It’s essential. Without it, discouragement feeds despair and despondency is birthed.

Have you found hope? Real hope? Genuine hope that isn’t dependent upon you? Genuine hope that is reliable? I hope you have. I have and it’s not an “it.” It’s a He and His name is Jesus Christ. His name is God. He is the Holy Spirit. He is my “positive expectation.”

God speaks Truth. His Word is true. He is reliable, dependable, available, real, knowledgeable, interested, forgiving, passionate, optimistic, love, sacrificing, personal, …

If you, also, have learned to trust in God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, join me in asking God to show you who you can talk with this week about His hope. May this be the Easter week others will always remember because they find genuine hope and move past despair, discouragement, and despondency.

“We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.” (Psalm 33:20)

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” (Micah 7:7)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)
