God is Faithful – Always

God’s faithfulness has been on my mind a lot. More than that.

God’s faithfulness toward me – toward us – inspires me. It’s a sure sign of His goodness.

God’s faithfulness allows me to be. To do. To live. To dream. To risk. To grow. To believe.

I want to be faithful. I want to be full of faith – first in God and then in me.

I founded Celebrate Kids, Inc., 26 years ago. At the time, God gave me some operating principles. They remain important and will always guide who I am and what we do. One of them is:

We will strive to be faithful, not famous.

This week, as you may know, I’m an expert interviewed by Kirk Cameron in his movie CONNECT. Many people have asked me how that happened. I certainly never prayed that I would be in a movie. I would never think of such a thing!

Rather, my goal has always been and will always be faithfulness, not fame. All of us at Celebrate Kids pray for influence and impact. These prayers were answered “YES” in a remarkable way. We never pray for fame. We never will. Influence and impact done well may increase influence and impact. That’s great and very different from fame. If more people get to know me and my ideas, it will be because God is honoring my heart for people and their growth.

God honors faithfulness. I encourage you to be full of faith in Him because He is worthy. And, be full of faith in yourself because He created you in advance to do good works (Ephesians 2:10) and He will equip you through instruction in His powerful Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 5:24).

God has been faithful to me! There have been times I thought about quitting the ministry. It can be hard. I’m so glad I never did! When I couldn’t always see evidence of bright days ahead, these verses ministered to me:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

When I doubted, these verses ministered to me:

“If we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Pray to be faithful and watch God work on your behalf. I did and I have. I am in awe of God!
