To motivate children to succeed, we can take on three distinct roles. One is to be a teacher. We must do more than just tell children what to do and yell at them if they don’t do it. We must teach them what to do and what not to do. We must teach them how to do it. Often, including why we want things done a certain way and when and where it’s relevant is also essential if our kids are going to be successful.
