Rise Up!

Rise Up!

Another Easter has come and gone. But, the effects of Easter should come and come.

We must each rise up! Faith in God matters. Greatly. It’s everything. Like Jesus, we can live. We can really live. We don’t need to stay down.

Jesus embodies faith and I want to be more like Him. Faith isn’t about posting a Bible verse on social media on Easter Sunday. There’s nothing wrong with doing that on any day as long as we know that Scripture is true and is to guide us by being in our heart and mind each day. Every day. Always.

A verse commonly posted yesterday is profound. Matthew 28:6 teaches us this:

“He [Jesus] is not here, for he has risen, as he said.”

Purpose with me to live with the reality of this verse in your heart and mind each day. As my pastor reminded us yesterday, faith doesn’t create our realty. It opens our eyes to reality. I want this verse to do this for me every day. Always. Jesus is alive!

Open my eyes, Lord, to all this means for me today and every day. It matters that Jesus died and lives!

For HE HAS RISEN.

“HE is not here, for he has risen, as he said.”

“He IS not here, for he has risen, as he said.”

“He is NOT here, for he has risen, as he said.”

“He is not HERE, for he has risen, as he said.”

“He is not here, for HE has risen, as he said.”

“He is not here, for he HAS risen, as he said.”

“He is not here, for he has RISEN, as he said.”

“He is not here, for he has risen, as HE said.”

We need to rise up, too. And we need to stay up. Jesus didn’t return to the tomb the day after His resurrection. No, He returned to heaven and sits at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19)

God delivers on His promises. Jesus trusted Him and lived by faith. He had not died before. He had never been resurrected before. Yet, He trusted His Father’s plan and finished His work on our behalf. He lived by faith.

I want that kind of faith. I want to believe God’s Word and what He teaches me when I spend time with Him. I want to believe, not just know, that God is for me and He will follow through because of His love. He did it for Jesus. He wants to do it for us. I want to be ready.

Every day. Always. I pray the effects of Easter come and come. I will rise up!
