When cooking, I tend to follow recipes closely as my mom did. My sister-in-law and other friends of mine know their spices better than I do. They enjoy adding a bit of this and a bit of that to enhance their roasts. They’re better than mine.
I got to thinking … What about life? What could I add to enhance its flavor? What would you like to add to your life this year to enhance its flavor? Something mild or much more bold? A lot of one or a little of many?
Spice it up! Add sacrifice, self-control, joy, peace, gentleness, belonging, passion, challenge, identity, activity, rest, faithfulness, purpose, security, goodness, risk, solitude, fun, competence, kindness, seriousness, quiet, security, patience, love, wisdom, generosity, …
What do you want to add? Why? How will you make the changes? Ask your friends what they’d like to add to their lives. How can you support them? With more courage, ask them what they think you could add to your life. Invite them to support you.
Spice it up!
