Meet Dr. Kathy

Dr. Kathy Koch (“cook”) wakes eager to spark lightbulb moments that build identity and connection in parents and kids. A former university professor turned child-celebration advocate, she loves the smiles when learners hear, “You were created on purpose, with purpose, for a purpose.” Parents call her a coach; students call her “Dr. Kathy”; audiences call her memorable.

She earned a PhD in reading and educational psychology from Purdue and founded Celebrate Kids, Inc. Her faith, classroom experience, and years of study shaped best-selling books—8 Great Smarts, Screens and Teens, and Five to Thrive—now used in homes, schools, churches, and universities worldwide. Every insight rests on data, case studies, cultural awareness, and clear frameworks.

Her workshops buzz with “try-this-tonight” strategies, object lessons, and spontaneous analogies that turn theory into action.
